Appeals, corrections, deadlines

Three clocks run on every violation. Most sellers only know one.

The appeal guide says 30 days, and that is the number beginners remember. The Enforcement Policy runs two faster clocks beside it. This page puts all three on one screen, from TikTok's own documents.

Clock 1 — Correction / immediate enforcement: 12–72 HOURS

For some violations, enforcement is immediate unless you act within 12–72 hours of notification — the exact window is printed on your ticket. The same window applies if you choose to correct a correctable violation instead of appealing it. Miss it and the enforcement lands; meet it with a sufficient correction and it does not. This clock starts at notification, not at when you happen to check your inbox.

Clock 2 — First appeal: 30 days

Your first appeal must be filed within 30 days of being notified of the violation. File it from Seller Center > Shop Health > Violation Records > View & Appeal. It is your sole responsibility — TikTok's words — to collect and upload all supporting documentation. An appeal without evidence is a coin flip you paid a month for.

Clock 3 — Second appeal: 15 days after a rejection

If the first appeal is rejected, the second must be filed within 15 days of that rejection. It is final: decisions after the second appeal do not change. Spend it on NEW evidence that answers the denial's theory — not on the same file with a sterner cover note.

What a strong file looks like

One clear explanation of why the enforcement was an error; the documents that prove it (for the exact ground you are claiming — authorization letters for IP, matching safety documents for product flags, carrier records for dispatch disputes, order + delivery records for fulfillment errors); and screenshots of the listing as it stood. Sellers who win second appeals describe the same pattern: the second file is an evidence pack, not a longer complaint.

The money clock behind a closure

If enforcement reaches deactivation, a fourth clock starts: funds may be withheld for 45, 90 or 365 days while TikTok offsets losses. That is a different problem from a violation appeal — it is covered, free, on this site's deactivation page.

Questions sellers ask

Does filing an appeal pause the enforcement?

For immediate-enforcement violations, a successful appeal inside the window prevents the action. For milestone restrictions already running, a milestone quiz can shorten the duration. Do not assume a pending appeal freezes anything the policy does not say it freezes.

Can I appeal and correct at the same time?

The policy presents correction as an alternative to appealing for correctable violations. Pick by the facts: if it happened and is fixable, correct; if it did not happen, appeal. Arguing both at once usually argues neither well.
